Barndominium Builder in Northeast Oklahoma

Custom Barndominiums With Complete Interior Finish

A lot of barndominium builders in Oklahoma will put up the shell and hand you the keys to an empty metal box. We don’t work that way. Shea Construction builds complete barndominiums, from the concrete slab to the last light switch. Metal frame on the outside, fully finished home on the inside, designed in 3D before we break ground.

Barndominium Construction for Northeast Oklahoma Homeowners

Signs a Barndominium Might Be Right for You

You Want Living Space and Shop Space Under One Roof

You Want to Build on Rural or Acreage Property

You Want Lower Maintenance Than a Traditional Home

You Want a Custom Home at a Competitive Cost

You've Looked at Kits but Want a Contractor to Handle the Full Build

Types of Barndominiums We Build

Residential Barndominiums

Full-time primary residences with open-concept living areas, finished bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. Metal frame exterior with a finished residential interior, including drywall, flooring, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC. These are homes, not barns with beds in them.

Barndominium With Attached Shop

The most popular configuration we build. Living quarters on one side, attached workshop or garage on the other. The shop area can be finished to any level, from a basic concrete-floor workspace with electrical to a fully climate-controlled, insulated workshop with 220V service, overhead doors, and ventilation.

Barndominium on Acreage or Rural Lots

Designed for properties outside city limits where well and septic systems may be required. We evaluate the site for water access, septic capacity, soil conditions, and electrical service before design begins. Rural builds often involve longer utility runs, and we account for that in the project scope and quote.

Multi-Use Barndominiums

Structures that combine residential, commercial, or agricultural use. Examples include a home with an attached retail space, a residence above a large equipment shop, or a combination living/horse barn setup. Zoning and permitting requirements vary by county, and we handle that coordination as part of the project.

Barndominium Questions

How much does a barndominium cost to build in Oklahoma?

Fully finished barndominiums in Oklahoma typically cost between $62 and $170 per square foot. A 2,000-square-foot barndo with an attached shop could range from $124,000 to $340,000 or more, depending on finish level, shop size, and site conditions. Shell-only kits start lower, but you’ll need to budget separately for all interior work if you go that route. We provide a detailed quote after the 3D design phase.

Most fully finished barndominiums take 4 to 8 months from slab pour to move-in. The metal frame goes up faster than traditional framing, which shortens the exterior phase. Interior finish work, mechanical systems, and inspections make up the bulk of the remaining timeline. We provide a full schedule before construction starts.

Generally, yes. The metal frame and exterior go up more efficiently than stick-built construction, which saves on labor and weather delays. However, the interior finish is where most of the cost lives. A barndominium with basic finishes will cost significantly less than a traditional custom home. A barndo with high-end finishes can approach or match traditional construction costs.

Yes. We offer SweetPay financing for qualified clients. Barndominium financing has become more accessible in recent years as these structures have become more common. Your lender will want to see professional blueprints and a clear build scope, both of which we provide as part of our standard process.

We build barndominiums across more than 30 cities in Northeast Oklahoma, including Pryor, Claremore, Salina, Grove, Tahlequah, Vinita, Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and surrounding communities in Mayes, Rogers, Cherokee, Delaware, Craig, and Tulsa Counties.
